Marvlyn has worked within the Tourism industry for the past 15 years, nine of those years at the now-defunct National Development Corporation and the Discover Dominica Authority. She has held a number of progressively responsible positions to include, Tourism Officer, STEP Coordinator, Quality Assurance Officer; Head of Marketing and acted in the position of Director of Tourism on several occasions. She is presently serving on the Marketing Committee of the Discover Dominica Authority.
Before joining the private sector, Marvlyn headed the implementation of the Tourism Sector Development Programme, a EC$10m European Union-funded project and was instrumental in setting up the National Community Tourism Association and working with several community groups to improve on the quality and packaging of their tourism product.
Marvlyn holds Bachelor of Science with Honors in Management and Marketing from the University of the West Indies and has undergone graduate courses leading to an MBA at the University of Leicester. She is also a Certified Hospitality Department Trainer.
