In the face of COVID-19, there will be more of us working from home. If this is new to you, here are some tips to stay productive.
Start your day
Just like you would go to work, keep your getting ready routine similar. Flipping the switch from home to work mode will help you get in the zone and focused on work. Set a schedule, and stick to it. Having clear guidelines for when to work and when to call it a day helps many remote workers maintain work-life balance.
Keep in touch
Stay in regular touch with your clients and colleagues throughout the day – this will keep you focused on the tasks you are working on and maintain a collaborative process. It’s important to figure out how much interaction you need to feel connected and included.
The first step in your “work from home” journey is to designate an area of your home. Set up your work space where you won’t be easily distracted. Dedicate a desk and some peripherals only for work use. Regardless of space or location, establish an area of your home where you will work, and commit to working in this space every day. Be sure your workspace is quiet so you can focus on the task at hand.
Though advice stay say to stay home, going for a walk can improve mental health and give your day structure. Your body needs to move. Plus, the fresh air and natural light will do you good. Get out of the house, provided you can maintain social distancing of course.
Above all STAY SAFE AND HEALTHY!
